Chocolate soft cookies

These cookies are tender and soft a little bit denser than a cake.

Servings: 15 to 20 cookies

 2 oz (60 g) unsweetened chocolate
 ¼ tsp (48 g) vegetable shortening
 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar
 1 egg
 1 ½ cups ( 185 g) all-purpose flour
 ½ tsp (2 ml) baking soda
 ½ cup (125 ml) milk
 1 tsp (5 ml) pure vanilla extract

Set the oven rack in the center of the oven. Preheat the oven at 350 °F (180°C). Lightly grease a cookie sheet.

Melt the chocolate a 50% in the microwave. Check often chocolate should not boil.

Soften shortening, gradually add the brown sugar. Add the egg and beat 1 Minutes.

In another bowl, mix flour and baking soda and alternately add with milk to first mixture.

Blend in the melted chocolate and beat until homogeneous not more.

Drop large tablespoonfuls of dough on cookie sheet leaving 2 inch space between cookies.

Cook the cookies in the oven for 15 Minutes. Let stand 1 minute, remove from the cookie sheet with a spatula and cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
