Grandma Beliveau Apple Crisp

 125 g (1 cup) all-purpose flour
 100 g (1/2 cup) brown sugar
 1/2 teaspoon salt
 58 g (1/4 cup) butter
 5 apples
 25g (30ml) sugar

In a food processor: Combine flour, brown sugar and salt. Drop the butter into chunks around the knife and pulse until the mixture is crumbly. Reserve.

Without a food processor: In a medium bowl combine the flour, brown sugar and salt. Place the butter in pieces on the dry ingredients and incorporate it using a pastry blender until the mixture is crumbly. Reserve.

Set the oven rack in the lower third of the oven. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) .

Peel, core and slice the apples and spread them in a square baking pan about 8 inches (20 cm). Sprinkle with sugar and cover with the mixture and bake for 30 Minutesor until golden. Let cool before serving.
