Ham and Peas Fettucini

 

You will love the combination of ham, peas and Parmesan flavors in this pasta dish.

 150 g fettucine
 1 cup fresh or frozen shelled peas
 100 g (2/3 cup) lean ham cut in 1 inch julienne
 1 tbsp vegetable oil
 1 small onion, finely chopped
 1/2 cup chicken broth
 1/4 cup heavy or light cream
  2 tsp cornstarch
  1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
 30 g (1/2 cup ) grated parmesan

In a large saucepan, cook the fettuccine and the peas in plenty of boiling salted water. Drain and reserve.

In the same saucepan used to cook the pasta, heat the oil over low heat and cook the onion 5 Minutes. Add the chicken broth and ham and bring to a boil.

Perfectly mix the cornstarch and cream with a small whisk, add to the saucepan and cook 1 Minutes. Add the fettuccine, peas and half of the cheese and simmer 1 to 2 minutes stirring constantly.

Serve immediately sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper and remaining of parmesan.
