The pressure cooker is handy for cooking hard boiled and soft boil eggs. You will find that the white of hard boiled eggs is softer than if they cooked in a pot of water on the stove.
The egg steamer rack and the silicone sling are practical but you can also use a grid or a steam basket that goes into the Instant Pot for cooking.
The shell of freshly laid eggs is very difficult to shell and therefore it is much better to take 1 to 2 weeks old eggs for cooking in their shells.
Servings: 1 to 12
Note that the cooking time takes into account the time the Instant Pot takes to start cooking as well as the cooking and resting time before releasing pressure.
Pour 1 cup (250 ml) of water (1 1/2 cup - 375 ml for 8 liters) into the inner pot of the pressure cooker and place the silicone sling and the egg steamer rack OR a grid or steam basket in the Instant Pot and put 1 to 12 eggs.
Secure lid with the pressure release to sealing. Select "egg or pressure or manual", set 6 minutes to "high" with "warm to off" for hard boiled eggs. For soft eggs put 3 minutes. Press on "start". (The unit will take about 5 minutes to start cooking).
In the meantime, prepare an ice bath.
When the end of cooking alarm sounds, immediately release the pressure, take the eggs out of the cooking bowl with the silicone sling or with silicone tongs if you do not have the sling, immerse them immediately in cold water and let cool 1 minute.
Peel the egg starting with the biggest tip: break on a hard surface, begin peeling and plunge it back into the water 1 or 2 times to facilitate the peeling (the water will infiltrate between the egg and the membrane).
