Strawberry Sauce

When you will taste this sauce mixed with yogurt you will be won over by its fresh berry flavor. During the summer, prepare it and freeze it in small jars. The sauce can also be prepared with frozen fruits.

This sauce  can also be prepared with raspberries or blueberries. It is also delicious served on ice cream, butter cake or cream puffs.

Yield : about 4 cups

 600 g (4 cups) fresh or frozen strawberries, sliced
 1 cup (200 g) sugar

In a medium saucepan, over very low heat, stirring occasionally, bring all the ingredients to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15 Minutes. Cool to room temperature before serving. This sauce will keep for a week in the refrigerator and will freeze for 1 year.

Variants :

Raspberry sauce: substitute strawberries with raspberries
Blueberry sauce: substitute strawberries with blueberries and add a pinch of ground cinnamon to taste
